Routines
Spring has come into full swing and it seems we are all suddenly so busy and that is when we can become a tad overwhelmed.
Have you ever heard the saying if you want something done get a busy person to do it? That is because busy people use their calendar and routines to schedule everything in, they multi-task, delegate jobs and seem to make order out of chaos. Not so easily done, but it takes practise.
The first thing is to make a routine out of the things you do the most- house chores, exercise class and doing your meal planning and shopping - do these on the same day, same time each week. Having things in a routine ensures you do not need to think about when, how long it takes and how to do it and you expect it to happen and so does everyone around you. It gets done easily if it is scheduled in and becomes a habit that feels comfortable over time.
Let's get organised. Tell us how making a schedule or routine in your week has helped you nourish your body with food and movement. Share and inspire us all in our Bright Bods group!

Recipe of the Month
Turkey Meatballs
The kids will love making these. This recipe is double batched so you can freeze some uncooked turkey meatballs for a quick meal another week.
Ingredients
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely diced or ½ cup leek
- 1 carrot- grated
- 1 zucchini- grated
- 1kg Turkey mince
- 2 cloves of garlic- crushed
- ¼ cup fresh parsley
- ¼ cup other fresh herbs of choice like sage, basil, oregano or dill
- Pinch of salt to taste
- Pinch of pepper to taste
- 1 Tb Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Method
- Preheat your oven to 200°C.
- Prepare a baking tray with oil by brushing the oil over the tray.
- Chop up the onion/leek, herbs and crush the garlic herbs. Add these to a large bowl.
- Add the eggs and stir with a fork to scramble together.
- Add the breadcrumbs, salt and pepper and grated carrot and zucchini. Stir well.
- Add the turkey mince and gently mix with clean damp hands until just combined.
- Take a heaped tablespoon of the mixture and roll into balls. Or you could try making sausage shapes.
- Place on a baking tray and bake for 15 minutes, or until the turkey meatballs are cooked through.
- Serve with potato/boiled corn and salad.
