It Takes Guts To See Us
We understand that eating is a very personal thing. And that disclosing the what, when how much and why you and your child eats certain foods is not an easy thing to admit to, or talk about, for many people. You do need to be brave to open up that can of worms and even have the courage and determination to find the right person to meet your needs if don't feel comfortable with who you are working with.
As Dietitians we are here to help you, not judge you. We understand healthy eating is not easy: with everything that life throws at us, all the nutrition misinformation out there and needing to prioritise other self care activities. We know you are the expert of you and we can give you the tools to make the best choices and changes you feel you need based on other people's experience and what the scientific evidence says.
We are here as much or as little as you need but keep in mind that keeping your eating habits in check with a 6-12 monthly review (just like the dentist) can be the most powerful and rewarding investment you could make for your health and lifestyle long term.
Please let us know how seeing a Dietitian has changed your life via our Bright Bods group and inspire more people to take control of their health and life!

Recipe of the Month
Pumpkin Juice
This is a recipe I literally tried just this week and I love it! Plus it must be a bonus that my child also said he liked it too and he is still learning to like pumpkin. It is a great way to add fruit and vegetables to your family's day even if it is not Halloween!
Ingredients
- 1/4 or 1kg pumpkin
- 1L water
- 2 red apples
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- Optional: 1 Tab sugar if it is not sweet enough, depending on the pumpkin
- Optional: Pinch of cinnamon and numeg
Instructions:
- Place a pot of water on the stove on high heat.
- Peel the pumpkin. Chop it up into 4cm cubes and add to the pot. You can add the seeds too if you like a bit more fibre and protein and if your blender is good enough to blend them with a smooth result.
- Peel and cut up the apple and add to the pot.
- Boil 30 minutes or until the pumpkin is soft.
- Take off the heat and allow to cool enough to transfer to your blender.
- Add the vanilla essence, a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg if you like it spicy.
- Blend the mixture until it is smooth.
- Taste test and if it is not sweet enough add sugar to taste.
- Serve warm or chilled.
