Shake It Off
Hello Bright Bod!
Have you had one of those days or weeks that you have felt there has been too much on your plate? Perhaps you are in need of a holiday, or life's unexpected events have changed your comfortable routine, and you feel physically or emotionally drained or overwhelmed?
I find music really helps me in these times. When you don't feel like cooking dinner, cleaning the house, going for that walk or exercise session or even getting off the socials.
Music can really change your mood, energy levels and help you refocus on the now. And I bet a little boogie will help too. So that in 30 minutes to 1 hour's time, you will feel good about looking after yourself: eating your nutritious home cooked meal, having that post workout high and feel calmer with less mess and 'house proud' . This is one of my favs at the moment: Shake it Off
So be kind to yourself and those around you. Please share the good vibes and post your favourite pick me up songs and even your dance moves on our Bright Bods Facebook group!
What's New
April Falls Month
April is April Falls month, raising awareness of falls prevention and in our case the importance of both nutrition ond physical activity to stay strong, independant and living life your way as we age.
Being back at the Peninsula Community Centre has been great to feel like we are part of our community again. However since Central Coast Council had taken over management there is no longer a time table we can hand out which is so helpful for a lot of our older patients to help them stay socially and physically active. So we have been busy beavers creating both a timetable and list of contacts which you can download here. Please share with your community group, family and circle of friends.
