Getting Back Into It
It takes time to get back into your old routines and make them work for you. Whether you are seeing friends and family more often to eat together, getting back into regular exercise classes or sports sessions or even getting back into shopping in person, there seems to be an adaption process. Perhaps some old unhelpful habits have crept back and you needs to re-think to re-introduce those healthy habits.
Take a moment to reflect on what happened and how you used to make those healthy options easier: Take your water bottle and have one at the office, car and bag. Pack a healthy snack or lunch, opt for the better choice on the menu or share part of the meal. Or even plan to go for a walk before or after your meal.

Recipe of the Month
Potato Salad
This recipe can be adapted for those who need to eat more nutrition at night to put on weight and for those who do not.
Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 1kg potatoes, cut into 5cm pieces
- 150g bacon, cut into pieces
- 3 spring onions/shallots, finely sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 100g greek yoghurt
- 15g wholegrain mustard
- 10g balsamic vinegar
Method
- Place the potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with plenty of cold water. Bring to the boil. Boil for 10-15 minutes or until tender. Drain well and set aside to cool.
- Meanwhile, place eggs in a saucepan of boiling water and cook for 8 minutes (for medium-cooked yolks), then drain and transfer to iced water to stop cooking. Peel, quarter and set aside.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the bacon and cook, stirring for 7-8 minutes or until golden. Drain well on paper towel.
- Whisk the greek yoghurt, mustard and balsamic vinegar together.
- Place the potatoes, bacon and dressing in a bowl. Toss gently to combine. Add the egg and toss to combine. Serve.
Notes
For fussy eaters: Skip step 5 and serve ingredients separately. Allow your child to choose how much of each they wish to eat.
To increase the calories: Add up to 200g yoghurt to the dressing or swap to mayonnaise
To decrease calories: Omit bacon and use only 4 tablespoons of yoghurt in the dressing.
